7 days

A week of being away from city life.   A week of tranquility and relaxation.  A week of reuniting with friends and most importantly, a week of being one with myself and with nature.  No worries, no complications just pure joy and laughter from the heart.

Just one week and yet it made a lot of difference…

..at the Mactan Airport (waiting..)
our plane tickets
arrival in Cebu
Oct. 9, 2010 – Flight to Cebu via Zest Air. (We almost missed the plane because of heavy traffic along EDSA due to 10.10.10 run.  But then, God is really good!  Buzzer Beater kami. “Last call Cebu.” J).  Tumambay kami sa airport for about 30-45 mins just waiting for the reply of the one whose holding our hotel reservation receipt pero dahil nagutom na kami we decided to take the risk of going straight to the hotel eventhough we aren’t sure if they’ll take us in without the receipt.  So, we rented a taxi (yung manong di marunong mag-tagalog kaya nagamit ko tuloy ang inaral ko sa loob ng isang Linggo na “Di ko kasabot ug bisaya.”..hahaha)

Cebu Guest House - this is where we stayed for 2 nights.  On our way here, I sent an SMS sa isa sa mga pinakamakukulit naming friends and that very same instant, may schedule na agad kami ng gimik that very same night.

Don Henricos (Ayala Mall, Cebu) – dahil gutom na kami, we explored one of the malls in Cebu (salamat sa virtual map name.  my friend,  littleangel for always replying on time on how we can go to a specific place.)

1st night in Cebu - night out!
ang salarin sa aming paghihintay sa airport..hehehe
with Fr. Charlie (last bu-tel pa!)
Chicco de caffe – we were supposed to go to an overlooking place but since Mr. Gimik Master couldn’t find the way to the place, he decided to just settle in this caffe (wag ka, umulan at tumila na ang ulan andun pa rin kami..just making kwento and balitaan hanggang sa magsara na lang andun pa rin kami.  We stayed there until 4:30AM!!!..”Last bottle (pronounced as bu-tel) pa.”)..hehe)

Oct. 10, 210 - Dahil inumaga na kami, we woke up late and just explored another mall (robinson’s) to eat and to buy dried mangoes and shamrock as pasalubong.

USJR – the following day, we had our breakfast here since this was our meet up place so we could  all go together to Valencia, Negros Oriental.  (so glad to meet a lot of friends whom I haven’t seen for a long time.)

the pier

..ang maglalayag?..toinks..hehe
Roro Pier? – I don’t know how this place is being called but this is the “pier” where we and the starex van will ride the tanker (haha..sorry pero di ko alam ano tawag sa sinakyan namin) to cross the sea to Valencia (via Sibulan)

lunch on the road
Jo’s Chicken Inato- here comes my allergies (so I ended up not eating the chicken bbq they ordered for me for our lunch) :(

Mader Bern's house (Fiesta!)

Basketball Exhibition Game
sulfur mountain?..hehe
in Caidiocan
at the Convent (bisperas)
Sis w. Pakner and Fr. Patik - at Fr. Roland's house
Fiesta!Fiesta! – it was ‘bisperas’ when we arrived and so one of the activities was an exbihition game by some of our priests friends fr om the OAR Community versus the diocesan priests of Dumaguete. (syempre nanood kami and what’s new?..OAR priests prevailed!..Clap!Clap!)

OAR Convent in Valencia – after watching a good and healthy game, our priest friends invited us for a sumptuous dinner. (yay, sira ang diet..hehe..but we enjoyed it because we were able to catch up and bond with some of them whom we haven’t seen for quite a long time)

a night at the boulevard
Fr. Roland’s House- after eating, Fr. Roland invited us all to their house and  we ate again! (pag fiesta talaga..kain lang ng kain).  We left their humble home at around 11PM eventhough its raining because my friend named antok was fetching me already.  Fr. Patik drove us through Mader Bern’s House (Sis’ mother-in-law) where we were staying.
twin lake
Japanese Shrine

October  11, 2010 - The following day wasn’t as jampack as our previous days. Why? It’s Fiesta Day! We just attended the high mass in the morning (na di ko maintindhan since it was in Bisaya), ate, slept for a while and asked Jap to drive us around Valencia including their house. (Yey! I rode the motorcycle again..I’ve missed it!)

coffee at cafe antonio along the boulevard
swimming in balanan lake
October 12, 2010 – Sis and I woke up early even if we slept late the other night since we need to burn some of the calories we gained during the fiesta plus we need to hurry up because today was the start of our gala day! First, among the list was going to Caidiocan in the morning, Japanese garden and twin lake in the afternoon with Fr. Catmers (Pakner, as what we’re fond of calling each other)
dinner at the seaside after Balanan Lake
October 13-15, 2010 – Gala Galore! Nature tripping!!!I so love doing these things. Yahooooooooo!!!
As I was writing this blog entry, I’m missing the place already.

our last night in Valencia
Valencia is full of very nice and accommodating people not to mention a greener environment which will amaze any nature-lover individual such as me.  I’ve been to the place twice and yet I still can’t get enough of it!  Valencia is such a small town but it occupied a big place in my heart! (in fact, I was thinking of settling here someday!)
